About Camp

The Ed Hynes Hall of Fame Soccer Camps will consist of two five-day sessions that will focus on all aspects of “the beautiful game”.

We cater to beginner through experienced players.  Our staff is trained to handle the needs of both the new player and the player looking for the competitive edge needed for high school and travel play.

The weekly session will stress conditioning, team play and individual instruction.  Technical skills and tactical concepts are both emphasized using fun and innovative activities.

Ed Hynes is the former Head Coach of the Wagner College Soccer Team.  Hynes founded the Women’s team and coached it from 1993 to 1999.  In 1997, he guided the Seahawks to the only post-season appearance in the program’s history.  He was named the 1996 Northeast Conference Coach of the Year.

Ed took over the varsity coaching position at Monsignor Farrell in 2011 and guided the Lions to CHSAA SI divisional titles in 2011 and 2012.  They also appeared in the 2012 and 2013 SIHSSL title matches.  In addition, Farrell has recently won the 2018 and 2019 SIHSSL Championship and has just captured the 2020 NY Archdiocesan Championship.

Hynes was a two-time Staten Island Advance All-Star and a Division 1 soccer player at Iona College in the early 1980’s.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and a National Coaching Diploma from the NSCAA.  In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Ed has coached high school and youth soccer for many years.  He has been a teacher at Monsignor Farrell for over twenty years.

Our staff is comprised of some of the finest coaches and college players on Staten Island.  Our coaches are hand-picked to ensure that our staff is second to none.

Our 2021 camp will be held at Monsignor Farrell High School in the beautiful DiTommasso Stadium.
